Congressman Meadows Succeeds Where Ryan Failed

It was due to Congressman Meadows leadership and the Freedom Caucus' strong stand that there was a second chance to get this right.  This is not perfect, but it's a start.  It's on to the Senate where Senators Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul and other Senators beholden to our Constitution and free market principles will work with Mark to continue to tear Obamacare out by the roots.
Please say Thank You to @RepMarkMeadows.
Breitbart: "Meadows' efforts in no small part seem to have succeeded where Ryan failed, rallying his House Republican colleagues behind a years-long campaign promise to repeal and replace Obamacare..."

Washington, D.C. - Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) released the following statement on the passage of the AHCA:
"This process has never been about getting a win for Republicans or a win for the Freedom Caucus-it's been about getting a win for the countless Americans who are being crushed by the broken system of Obamacare. Today is a victory for them.
From the earliest stages of the discussion, I've stated that my goals were to 1) bring down premiums for Americans, and 2) protect those with pre-existing conditions. After weeks of negotiations, conversations, and substantive changes to the bill, I believe we reached the point where both of these criteria will be sufficiently met. I believe the revised AHCA will substantially reduce healthcare premiums and provide a strong net of protection for the most vulnerable Americans.
I particularly want to recognize two of my friends and colleagues, Rep. Tom MacArthur and Rep. Fred Upton, for their work in negotiating the closing details of the bill. I also want to thank President Trump for his work behind the scenes to bring this deal home. Having worked with him closely over the last few months, I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly focused this President is in keeping his campaign promises to you. This bill is a major step in that mission. There is still work to be done, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate to improve the bill-but today's vote is a vital piece to the puzzle. Today we are one step closer. Help is on the way."
