IRA ROBERTS ANNOUNCES HIS CANDIDACY FOR NORTH CAROLINA’S

10TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

PROVEN LEADER, ARMY VETERAN, FISCAL HAWK, AND AMERICA FIRST

Hickory, NC --- Today, Ira Roberts announced his candidacy for Congress in North Carolina’s District 10.  Mr. Roberts, an Army veteran, a Republican, a native of Catawba County who attends Harmony Baptist Church in Conover, supports a no amnesty, merit-based immigration plan, cuts to Federal spending, greater fiscal responsibility with your tax dollars, and an “America First’ foreign policy model.

Ira Roberts vows …  “It’s time to give the voters in NC 10 true representation. The Roberts Campaign promises a more conservative approach to serving District 10 than career politician and incumbent, Representative Patrick McHenry (R).  As House Majority Whip, Representative McHenry does the bidding for GOP establishment leadership and not the good folks in NC 10 as evidenced in his failing conservative score with the top conservative groups in the nation because he votes to grow the size and scope of government, and to risk our national sovereignty.” (Patrick McHenry scorecard: Heritage Action 68%   FreedomWorks 68%  Conservative Review  49%   Numbers USA (immigration)  46%.)

Ira Roberts’ career has been one of proven leadership.  Ira served on active duty in the Army as an enlisted intelligence analyst.  He was selected for the competitive Green-to-Gold program where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at UNC Charlotte.  While there, he joined ROTC, became a member of the North Carolina Student Legislature and the College Republicans.  In addition, Ira interned at a congressional office and worked part time at Homeland Security.

Upon graduation, Ira Roberts was commissioned as an Intelligence Officer and graduated from the Intelligence School.  He then joined the North Carolina National Guard. During that time, Ira worked as a defense contractor for the Defense Intelligence Agency and the National Ground Intelligence Agency. Currently, Ira works as a Facility Operations Manager in Catawba County. He also serves as a board member for the Hickory International Council.

Ira Roberts commits to restore our Republic to fiscal sanity, to champion merit-based immigration reform, to improve our national security, and to preserve the sanctity of life.
